Digital Ignition ZDG 3.23 for Guzzi V7 / Marelli Distributor

Ignition set for Moto Guzzi V7, sensor assembly in the distributor while maintaining the original look. Furthermore, a second ignition coil or the complete ignition coil set is necessary.

Tachometer

The original electronic tachometer is not compatible with this ignition. The rev counter output voltage on pin 7 is too low and the tachometer either doesn't show the right rpm or nothing at all. A mechanical tachometer works as usual with the ZDG3 and no special care needs to be taken.

One solution to get the original electronic tachometer working with the ZDG3 rev counter output is to increase the voltage of the box. We built a separate box specially for this purpose. It can be purchased separately.

Coil Compatibility

The ZDG3 needs two individual ignition coils. The V7 originally has only one coils and uses the distributor to distribute the spark from one coil to both spark plugs. We do offer a special kit which includes two PVL220 coils and all required parts and brackets to mount them on the V7. This kit is not mandatory, as any compatible ignition coil can be used, but it's a quick way to obtain all parts you need for a conversion.
